Denali National Park & Preserve - Experience an ever-changing glaciated landscape that supports a wide range of wildlife, with the massive Denali (Mt. Mckinley) in the background. Standing at 20,320 feet, it is North America's tallest mountain.

Museum of the North - University of Alaska's natural and cultural history museum. "The Place Where You Go To Listen" is one of its most famous exhibits.

Pioneer Park - Known also as 'Alaskaland', this is a theme park with a focus on historical Fairbanks.

Santa Claus House - Located in North Pole, this is where all the letters to Santa go.

North Pole, Alaska - Just 20 minutes east of Fairbanks, North Pole is a main tourist attraction.

Riverboat Discovery - Travel down the Chena River on an old-style sternwheel riverboat.

Poker Flats Research Range - The world's only scientific rocket launching facility owned by a museum.

Large Animal Research Station - Research facility dedicated to understanding the biology of artic ungulates such as reindeer, muskox and caribou.

Georgeson Botanical Gardens - Located on the grounds of UAF, visit this beautiful botanical garden.

Silver Gulch Brewery - An Alaskan brewing and bottling company, owned and operated by life-long Alaskans.

Gold Dredge #8 - Experience the thrill of gold mining at this historical mining site - and pan for gold yourself!

Alaska Salmon Bake - The taste of Alaska is here, with a selection of salmon, halibut and cod caught from icy Alaskan waters.

Ester Gold Camp - A former part of a mining camp, this rustic hotel has a saloon and restaurant.

 
 
Military Bases
 
Fort Wainwright - Closest Army base to Fairbanks.

Eielson Air Force Base - Located 30 minutes south of Fairbanks this is the closest Air Force Base to Fairbanks.

Fort Greely - Home of the Cold Regions Test Center, one of the coldest areas in Alaska.

Clear Air Force Station - This station is part of the Air Force Space Command.
