Fairbanks is more than a city, it’s a community. Between the Summer Solstice Celebration and the Yukon Quest there are always events bringing our community closer together. |
Creamer's Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge - "A special place for wildlife and people", visit Creamer's Field to view a wide variety of migratory waterfowl and other wildlife.
Alaska Bird Observatory - For birders especially, visit the observatory to learn more about Alaska's birds.

Tanana Valley Farmers Market - An open air market selling local produce, baked goods, and crafts.
Ester Community Market - Held off the Old Nenana Highway (off the Parks Highway across from the Ester Weigh Station at milepost 351.8),
from 4 to 8 pm on Thursdays, June 4 through August 27.Come hear local music and find local goods and fresh, local produce!
Summer Solstice / Midnight Sun Festival - Celebrate the summer solstice, our longest day with sunlight of the year in the heart of Fairbanks!
The Golden Days of Fairbanks - A week long celebration, celebrating Fairbanks gold rush heritage in July with various unique activities!

World Ice Art Championships - The official website for the World Ice Art Championships, AKA "Ice Alaska". Includes stunning galleries of ice sculptures from previous years.
Yukon Quest - An epic 2 week long sled dog race following a historical trail between Fairbanks and Whitehorse Canada.
Iditarod - 1,150 mile sled dog race following a historical "thoroughfare" through Alaska.
World Eskimo-Indian Olympics - The games played at this event display the preparedness on needed for survival for Native Americans.
Arctic Man - A unique snow machine race/series of events held in Summit Lake, a definite adrenaline rush if you race, a great social event if you like to show off your snow machine.
Fairbanks Snow Travelers - A local snowmachine club; If you are interested in snowmachinining hard to reach trails around Fairbanks, these are the people to know.
